Details of experience:
Mrs. Judy B arrived at Quality Center for Rehabilitation and Healing on December 12, 2024. She was staying at home with her daughter prior to her accident. Mrs. B sadly experienced a fall that fractured her right femur on December 7, 2024. She was then taken to Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, to be examined and treated. She had surgery while there to repair her right femur fracture the following day on December 8, 2024.
Upon her arrival at Quality, she was greeted by several members of our professional team. Within her first 48 hours, she met with our clinicians, therapists, physician, administrative staff, and our many other team members, who welcomed her to our community, assuring her they were all here to help. She was also greeted by the Concierge Cecelia Hall, who gifted her with a CareRite welcome bag, explained her role as liaison, and met and spoke with her daughter, answering any questions that she may have had about her mother’s stay. Mrs. B also met with her roommate, Juanita. She enjoyed her company greatly and spoke of this on different occasions.
After her admission to our community, Mrs. B was evaluated by Therapy on December 13, 2024. Physical therapy noted that upon her evaluation, she was able to ambulate 25 feet with a front-wheeled walker. Her transfers required moderate assistance, as did her bed mobility. She then met with Occupational Therapy, and it was noted that Mrs. B required maximum assistance to complete toilet hygiene and transfers, showers, and lower body dressing. Her upper body ADLS (activities of daily living) were deemed to require supervision.
Amazingly, in just one short week, she began to make great progress while working with our physical and occupational therapy team. She was now ambulating 150 feet, requiring only supervision assistance. She was able to ascend and descend eight steps. Her transfers were also being completed with only supervision assistance now. Every ADL task that Mrs. B was working on with therapy had improved immensely, from maximum assistance to supervision assistance.
Mrs. B had set a goal for herself upon her admission to our community to be able to return home with her daughter in less than three weeks, and she did just that. She was very motivated and worked extremely hard with our therapy team and within our community to meet that goal. She stayed in our community for 15 days and was discharged home with her daughter just as she intended on December 27, 2024. Mrs. B always spoke highly of her nurses, caregivers, therapists, roommate, and her overall experience here at Quality Center for Rehabilitation and Healing.
